New SMD boundaries in 2023. Based on the results of the decennial census, boundaries of the Advisory Neighborhood Commissions (ANCs) and Single-member Districts (SMDs) of the District of Columbia are updated every ten years. New boundaries were approved by the DC Council on June 7, 2022 and approved by Mayor Muriel Bowser on June 16, 2022.

These new ANC and SMD boundaries took effect on January 1, 2023. Additional information related to the 2023 ANC and SMD boundaries can be found on the District’s Office of Planning website here.
